Lewisburg Country Club

Club News

How about the weather in February, the normal temperatures in February is 39 degrees and the average this year was 48!!! March came in like a lion with high winds and some snow showers. We have been cleaning up the course after the winds, thank God there was no serious damage, just alot of branches and pine combs around. The Course is in great shape with mowed fairways and greens! Yes this early in March.
This months Newsletter will highlight an important segment of our golfing market that we must grow, and that is our clubs activities and participation. Influence, its a word that impacts our growth and development over a lifetime. Influence address the role we play with golfers, with club members and our community.
My parents, who has been one of my greatest influences in my life, used to tell their friends that they do not't have to worry about me being out on the golf course, because "Its the safest playground in America."
Is there a better line to influence parents to get their kids into golf? My first PGA Professional, Paul Jaycox, who I meet when I was 14 years old, influenced me in a number of ways. This included how to improve on the course, respect people of all ages and abilities, and embrace the character building traits that this game can teach you.
These learned concepts of making the game enjoyable for people of all abilities is the very reason I am proud of all our activities at our club.
Today, our club supports programs like the First Tee of West Virginia, Drive Chip & Putt, Men & Ladies Leagues, Fundraisers, Club Championships, West Virginia Virginia Golf Association events,  and other unique initiatives that help grow the game at our facility.  If you are not participating in our golf events, I am asking you to reconsider. The experiences that you will enjoy by participating in our club events, will provide you value and several club opportunities to increase your enjoyment of the game. I recognize that our members and guests are not just going to come and visit us , our job is to get you active at our facility by offering programs that appeal to your interests and needs. Together as a Country Club lets introduce our services to friends or family members so we can share the great experiences this great game offers.

The Super Sunday

On Sunday, March 12th at noon The Lewisburg Country Club is hosting a Super Sunday Event. The Format of this event is named after one of my favorite places Pinehurst Foursomes. In this format all four players hit a tee shot and their own second shot. After each player hits his or her second shot pick the two best shots and form two teams. Once the two balls are chosen and the team is established play a scramble for the remainder of the hole. Your team score will be the total of the two balls.
The entry for this event is $10.00 plus your cart and or greens fee. Watch for the email or sign up in the golf shop today!!
